RAAF No 18 Armament Fitter Course
Tubby died in his room on the Base at Williamtown, of a heart attack in Jul 1968. He had recently been medically assessed as over weight and to re-enlist he had been pushing himself to lose weight. It came as a huge shock to hear that he had died. I remember Bob Bartlett and Robin Hood (singlies at the time) had to do a kit inspection and inventory. He was liked by all who knew him. A hard worker and good at his job. The RAAF funeral was attended by just about everyone in 76 Squadron with the Gunnie Corporals as pall bearers.
Another young Gunnie, too young to die in his late 20's.
So long Tubby
